Project for my graphic design class; make a graphic novel based on a period of design history. My time period was art deco, which became popular after WW1. It was an opulent, decoratve style that was a reaction to the forced austerity of the wartime. It is often associated with film noir and 1930s glamour.
I spent so long on this OMGUH. I like it, but at the same time it like CRAP HOW IS THIS ART DECO? because it is not as art deco-y as I would have liked. But I ran out of time.
I used reference (lol google images) for the drawing of the train, the builings, and the diner. And the money.
Story is mine.
Page six, the end. I wanted to do a more conclusive ending, but I was really pressed for time. That, and film noir often had ambiguous endings. But it's mostly the time thing.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
